What is the recommended procedure for
installing and finishing natural stone tiles?
Installation
Tips:
-
Stone tile installation is the same as that recommended for
ceramic tile
-
Adhesive—use
acrylic modified thin-set mortar (white for light colors; grey
for darker stones)
-
For larger stones
use larger trowel, check the Tile Counsel of Americas for proper
installation procedures or come to one of our
FREE tile classes!
Pre-sealing
Before Grouting:
-
To minimize (or preclude) any grout deposits accumulating in the
micro-pores on the stone's surface, it is advised to pre-seal
before grouting. One recommendation would be
Sealer's Choice, by Aqua Mix, but final selection might
depend on the specific area of usage
-
Application - Use
manufacturers suggested procedure
